Tons of Nigerians have expressed their displeasure about the planned trip of the President, Muhammadu Buhari to Mali.

The trip which was scheduled for 23rd, July 2020, and was announced by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, met with a lot of negative comments on social media.

S.A Adesina announced that the president will be visiting Bamako, the Malian capital with several other ECOWAS leaders on a peacekeeping mission.

Following this disclosure, enraged Nigerians have since taken to social media to fault the trip, while others urged the President to stay to ensure an end be put to the current insurgency in the country, to promote peace and security before traveling for the same purpose to another country.

@fagan001 tweeted, “He can’t step out to meet his fellow citizens that are butchered daily, over fears of contracting Covid-19, yet he travels to Mali because their political tensions supersede the crisis ravaging his country!”

Gabriel Alpha posted on Facebook, “You first remove the stick in your eye before you remove another man’s.”

Obiagwu Checky wrote, “Boko Haram just killed five aids in Borno State and the president is embarking on a peace mission to Mali. He whose house is on fire doesn’t chase a rat.
