Again: Gunmen Attack Imo Police Command, Six Feared Dead

On Monday some gunmen razed the Okigwe South Police Division in Orieagu in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

 A police officer at the station told our correspondent that the gunmen on arrival opened fire on the cops who challenged them.

He said that the invaders had freed all the suspected and made away with arms and other weapons.

No fewer than six police men were shot dead by the attackers who also torched the security facility, the source said

The source further said, “Our division in Okigwe South is on fire. Six policemen were shot dead by gunmen. They also freed the suspects before setting fire to the facility.”

Orlando Ikeokwu,The police spokesperson in the state said five policemen were killed while one was missing.

He added “The command has launched an investigation into the onslaught,”.
