BREAKING: NLC Chairman Kidnapped in Cross River State

Chairman of Cross River state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Ben Ukpekpi has been kidnapped.

According to reports reaching Sdb News, Ukpekpi was kidnapped while standing in front of his house at CROSPIL Estate, Akpabuyo, in the outskirt of Calabar with his wife around 8pm on Sunday, March 21, 2021.

The abductors took him away through the river at the bridge head at Atimbo.

Ukpekpi’s son quickly got into a car and drove behind them. The abductors shot at the tyres of the car and bursted the tyres.

The whereabouts of the chairman is unknown as the abductors are yet to contact the family for ransom.

This is reportedly the second time Comrade Ukpekpi would be kidnapped in front of his house after the first incident in December 2019
