Nollywood star, Funke Akindele Bello, has opened up on how she coped with her failed marriage with her ex-husband Adeola Oloyede before she eventually divorced.
Funke got married to Oloyede, a Lagos-based businessman, in 2012 and the marriage lasted for only 413 days as issues of abuse surrounded the union.
The actress said she only went into marriage because she just wanted to get married at the time and it ended “in a very bad way”, she said in an interview with Chude Jideonwo in his show, #WithChude.
Talking about the outcome, she said that she cried, and lost many good contracts then but didn’t let it affect her.
She survived the period by burying herself in her work, travelling and making movies, Akindele-Bello said, her mother was always during the period.
The actress also said that her colleague and close friend, Eniola Badmus, was there to support her at that time.
“I channeled it to work and I was saving at that period. I remember Eniola Badmus, we were always together on set. She won’t make me feel bad as we were cracking jokes and laughing,” she said.
She later got married to AbdulRasheed Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz in 2016. They gave birth to a set of twins in 2019. They celebrated their fifth-year anniversary on August 24.
