Government Is Setting Up Measures To Confront Insecurity- Soludo

Following the killing of the member representing Aguata Constituency II at the State House of Assembly, Okechukwu Okoye by gunmen and the insecurity challenges of Anambra State, the governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has promised the criminals will face the law.

Hon. Okechukwu Okoye and his aide was kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday, May 15, 2022, in Aguata and his head with a note was found on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Nnobi Idemile South Local Government Area.

The note reads partly, “everywhere you go, you cannot hide anywhere. We will go after you one by one because soldiers and police is (sic) no longer our problem,” said by a resident.

The gunmen has been recently kidnapping, killing of people, attacking and destroying the state properties.

Prof. Soludo said all the criminals would be arrested and face their judgements in a statement when he was addressing the aspirants of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, at the Governor’s Lodge Awka, Anambra State.

He said, government is setting up strict measures with the security operatives to confront the insecurity challenges of the state inorder to restore peace and order.

He also appreciated the party members for all their support for the successful election that made him the governor of the state and encourage them that the party would win in the coming election for their respective posts.
