INSECURITY: Tension rises in Akwa Ibom as criminal activities becomes the norm.

Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Civil Liberties Organisation has cried out over  increase in criminal activities such as kidnapping, robbery and murder in the state.

A statement on released on Tuesday by its chairman, Franklyn Isong; and Secretary, Christopher Ekpo, lamented the spate of criminal activities, adding that residents no longer sleep with their eyes closed.

Isong appealed to Governor Udom Emmanuel to stop the trend of insecurity in the state by providing patrol vans and other logistics support to boost efficiency of the police and fight against the the criminal activities prevailing in the state.

The Civil Liberties Organisation, Akwa Ibom State Branch therefore called on the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, to provide patrol vehicles and other logistical supports to the Nigeria Police Force, Akwa Ibom State Command in order to boost the efficiency of the Police to combat the recent upsurge of armed robbery, cultism and other criminal activities in the State.
