Man Imprisoned In Kano For Insulting Ganduje, Children On Facebook.
Mu’azu Magaji Danbala, has been remanded in prison by a Kano State Magistrate Court sitting in Nomansland.
Information gathered has it that Mu’azu was arrested by the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Kano Command, for insulting Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and two of his children on Facebook.
Mu’azu and another accused, Jamilu Shehu, were accused of calling the governor and his sons ‘Kano thieves’ on their social media pages.
Information reaching us has it that the Chairman of Nassarawa Local Government Area of the state, Auwal Lawal Shuaibu was the one who reported the duo to the Bureau.
The court thereafter ordered the suspect to be remanded in after his bail application was objected to by the prosecution counsel, Barrister Wada Ahmad Wada, a Principal State Counsel.
The presiding judge, Aminu Gabari, also ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Police Headquarters to produce the case diary before the court would determine whether or not to admit the suspect to bail.
The case has been postponed to 8th November for further mention.
