Most recently, a military crash in May 2021, claimed the lives of Army Chief, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers.

On February 21, a Minna-bound military jet crashed, killing all 7 people on board.

On April 2, another Alpha jet crashed in Borno during an operation.

On July 18, information has been flying round that another Alpha jet crashed in Kaduna while on a clearance operation against bandits.

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has debunked the news that a military plane crashed did not occur.

A source that spoke with a news portal about the incident disclosed that the crashed plane is an Alpha jet.

The source said, “The fighter jet left Yola, the Adamawa capital, this morning to go clear bandits.”

But reacting to the development, NAF’s spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said the headquarters had not received any report of a crash involving its aircraft, adding that no alpha jet left Yola for Kaduna.

He however added that he is making contacts and awaiting information from other locations.
