Ooni of Ife Awards 100 Exceptional Youths at the Royal African Awards

The Royal African Award was created by His Imperial Majesty (H.I.M), Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, OJAJA II, Ooni of Ife and the Grand Patron, Former President Goodluck Jonathan. The award which is the brain child of revered monarch is aimed at showcasing and celebrating Africa young achievers, while also availing them a platform to network and further horn their leadership skills. It has also become a new transformational multipurpose that is poised to unleashing the untold stories of Africa’s abundant human capacity, natural resources as well as identifying, developing, embracing a new breed of competent patriotic leaders with modern worldviews who desire to impact and shape the economic narrative of the continent to its enviable destination as designed by our founding fathers. Standing on his promise in dedicating his throne to the youths of Africa, this year’s edition of the award took place on the 29th of May, 2021 at the Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. Giving his words, “I’d be celebrating 100 exceptional Nigerians across 5 different unique fields. These are excellent minds who despite the circumstances of the nation have stood out and performed above bar. I will celebrate them and push them beyond their wildest imagination all to the benefit and growth of our dear nation. It is my wish that all young people in Africa must be unapologetic in their collective determination to rebuilding the pride of our continent. You must make your voices heard. Like leopards, you remain the finest and bravest change makers that the continent is craving for”, Ooni said. Amongst the 100 awardees were Mr. Macaroni, Miss Apaokagi popularly known as Taoma, Titilope Anifowose, Omojuwa, Akin Olaoye, Hamzat Lawal, Orondam Otto, Nkem Okocha aka Mama Moni. One of the awardees, Titilope Anifowose of Eagles Foundation for Humanity charged every young person to stay focus. She said,” To every young person reading this. Know and note that God got you! Stay focused and keep working smart. Humans will fail you but God won’t. Nothing beats constantly growing and staying humble. Nothing!! “
