The members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have whipped President Muhammadu Buhari for proposing that his government has thrived with resources and flourished in time.

On Thursday, 22nd July, General Buhari mentioned that history and posterity would record his tenure as one that strove to restore national security and economy.

He stressed that he and governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors were going beyond their power to ensure the peace and progress that Nigeria deserves. Mr. President made this statement shortly before he met with 12 governors, who visited his country home on Kongolam Road, Daura, Katsina State, including Governors of Lagos, Ekiti, Kastina, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kano, Cross River, Gombe, former governor of Zamfara State, and Senator Ahmed Yarima.

Buhari expressed, “It’s not easy for us in this country to make people appreciate what we have gone through, but if you try to discuss concerning time and resources, then you will appreciate what the APC government has done. So, I think all of us have done our best and we thank God that within the resources and time available, God has helped us and we have succeeded; otherwise, we would have been in trouble. So, I thank you very much for the visit, including those who have recently joined the party.

I assure you that our intellectuals and historians will be expected to be fair to the APC government to examine the time and resources within which we operate, so that for those who are looking for positions of excellence in the Presidency and the governors not exposed to know the ignorance or lack of political knowledge of the ordinary people and feed them with lies.”

The President cited that the security situation which was at its worst in the North-Eastern part of the nation before his regime came into power, has now improved. He continued as he said that involving troops to tackle violence in the North-West had also helped in silencing bandits in the region.

However, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kola Ologbondiyan, has declared that history will not speak well of the President because of the damage his regime has evoked in the country. He washed down the comments of the President as he opens up his shortcomings making Nigeria a safe haven, as many deaths are still being recorded and many parents scared out of their pants to send children to schools.

Earlier in the day, The House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, and 30 members of the APC had stopped by to see Mr. President. While sources have it that the Speaker and his accomplice were in Daura on account of paying Sallah homage to the President, a whiff of news passed that political issues became the focus of the visit.
