Police Kills Notorious Bandit, Rescue Abductee in Kastina

A notorious bandit called  Abdullahi Ummi, 50-year- old has been killed in a gun escapade with operatives of the Katsina State Police Command.

This information was conveyed to newsmen by the spokesman of the state command, Gambo Isa, during a press briefing.

Gambo said that the bandit was from Gullu, a hamlet in a forest in Yankwashi Local Government of Jigawa.

He added that the bandit who was just 50 years abducted an 80-year-old woman by the name Hajiya Hassana Zubairu,of Sandamu Local Government of Katsina State, and demanded a ransom of N500 million from her children.

According to Gambo, the abductee was kidnapped on June 29 and the Police rescued her on July 15.

“Based on credible intelligence information, our men swung into action and trailed the criminal in the forest where luck ran out of him.

“While trying to escape in a motorcycle with the kidnapped old woman, our officers and men engaged the bandit in a gun battle where he was subsequently killed,” He said.
