So pathetic!! Nigerian Singer,Sound Sultan died of Cancer at 44.

Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi popular known as Sound Sultan has died today July 11 at the age of 44 years.

Sound Sultan was multitalented and versatile in many areas as singer-songwriter, rapper, comedian, actor, musician, record producer, executive producer, basketball club co -owner.

He was popular known for his R&B, hiphop, reggae, Afrobeat and love songs while he was alive.

He came into limelight following the release of a song tittled ‘Jagbajantis’ in the early 2000s. In 2009, Sound Sultan married his long-term girlfriend Chichi Morah, now known as Farida Fasasi from the Igbo ethnic group.The couple has three children.

On 12th of May, 2021, It was reported that Sound Sultan is somewhere in America where he is receiving treatment in form of chemotherapy as the musician was reportedly diagnosed with throat cancer.

This had many fans and well-wishers saying prayers for his speedy recovery through social media posts.

Reacting, the singer shared on Instagram, saying, “I must not ignore the massive show of love. Thank you all.”

Unfortunately, he died after battling Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma (Cancer of the throat).

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Dr. Kayode Fasasi on behalf of the Fasasi family.

The statement read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan.

“He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.

He is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings.

“We, his family will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss.”
