President Muhammadu Buhari said the death of Army Chief, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 military officers in an air crash has doubled and increased Nigeria’s problem and has also affected the fight against insecurity in the country

Buhari made this known on Monday when the Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi, and his colleagues visited him at the Presidential Villa to console him.

Fayemi was accompanied by the Caretaker Committee Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) and Yobe Governor Mai Mala, and his Niger counterpart, Abubakar Bello.

The President expressed sorrow over the loss of officers at a time the country was battling with insecurity.

“This is a situation that only God knows when it will happen and it happened at a time when the security situation in the country is a fundamental issue”, NAN quoted him as saying.

And to lose choice officers has increased our problem and is a big blow to Nigeria but we know what we are in for and we will continue to work and pray hard so that God will give us the power to apply ourselves to the problem. he added

Buhari said the electorate know the circumstances the government found itself and promised his administration will continue to do his best and also to ensure peace and security in our country, he said.

He prayed that God would give Nigeria greater resolve to continue on the path the late COAS towed.
